Y. Liu Law Firm is a growing law firm focused on business matters that offers legal services to smaller, growth-oriented companies. The firm mostly delivers legal services in mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, energy, and real estate. We understand that businesses face challenges on a daily basis, such as worldwide and geography specific public policies, regulations, and different political and public relationship environments. We also understand the intricacies of the law, the nuances of negotiations and, most importantly, we know how to align law and negotiations with our clients’ priorities in order to achieve business’ goals. Accordingly, we guide executives through complex choices and potential obstacles. We are currently seeking an experienced manager to join us at our Markham location located at 105 Main St, Unionville, ON L3R 2G1
About this position:
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours), permanent position
Pay: $42/hr-$45/hr
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
Location: Unionville, ON
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support business development initiatives to expand client’s market.
• Conduct business investigations and documentary research.
• Represent firm and discuss to clients with details on business retainers and provide estimate cost on matters.
• Intake and provide initial screening to new files before assigning to legal counsel.
• Support company operations by maintaining office systems and supervising staff.
• Work with marketing team to advise on the proposals and presentations for clients and prospects.
• Maintain office services by organizing office operations and procedures, working with payroll service, controlling correspondence, improving filing systems, reviewing, and approving supply requisitions, and managing clerical functions.
• Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
• Implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments.
• Assist with staff with administrative matters and case specific matters.
• Keep management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports; summarizing information; identifying trends.
• Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, drive revenue growth, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Overtime working might be required due to time difference.
• Travel internationally upon request.
Qualifications (Skilled and Education):
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree, education in law,business or related field are preferred.
• Minimum two years of Management experience in legal industry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.
• Be able to communicate in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, be able to clearly communicate with attorneys.
• Ability to conduct business investigation and research individually, be familiar with legal procedures.
• Ability to manage and execute multiple projects, competing priorities, objectives and deadlines;
