The Opportunity
Reporting to the Site Leader, the Material Supply and Planning Manager is a key leadership role within the Lagimodiere facility and is responsible for overseeing all material supply and planning activities for the 4 production areas within the site. This role has overall accountability for materials and production scheduling and will oversee accurate inventory levels for raw materials, WIP, packaging, and ingredient inventory through the effective coordination and management of the inventory process executed within SAP. The incumbent is a key member of the plant Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and will ensure the timely and accurate provision of materials to satisfy daily operations, coordinate all traffic duties for the site, ensure customer expectations for service and delivery are met, and be responsible for purchasing ingredients and packaging inventory and minimizing material write-offs.
A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
- Lead and develop the Material Supply and Planning team which includes buyers, production planners and hourly, unionized team members.
- Manage optimal inventory levels to satisfy customer orders.
- Oversee the rough-cut production plan and determine any capacity issues or potential service issues.
- Execute the physical inventory count process within the facility.
- Procure indirect materials (plant supplies) to satisfy the manufacturing demand.
- Manage the material control portion of the plant overhead budget.
- Manage the storage, stock rotation, and internal distribution of packaging materials, ingredients, and raw materials.
- Lead the execution of Materials Management related SAP processes.
- Analyze and recommend inventory build options and safety stock levels.
- Manage the inbound raw and packaging materials to meet production requirements including inventory accuracy, minimizing write-offs and new product introductions.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing/co-pack facilities.
- Understand customer requirements and ensure shipping and delivery processes meet requirements.
- Report on customer service levels and other metrics.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within their function and coach team through the identification and improvement of plant performance issues.

What you will bring:
- Degree or Diploma/Certificate in Materials Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field or combination of 5-10 years of industry related experience.
- Must be self-managed and able to set priorities among conflicting priorities.
- SAP experience with direct procurement, indirect procurement, detailed scheduling, and physical inventory.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and impact others at various levels within the organization to achieve results.
- Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent experience in both union and non-union environments.
