Overview of Position:
The Cladder will be a skilled laborer responsible for all cladding and trim including laying out metal sheets, measuring and marking them, shaping them, cutting them to size, and affixing the metal cladding as required to the roof, soffit, or facia.
The successful candidate will have experience in metal cladding, metal systems, and flashing, or you have worked in construction or roofing. The candidate should have no fear of heights and be comfortable working with power tools and small hand tools. You are trained in the installation of soffit, fascia, and metal cladding. Physical labour including bending and lifting will be part of your daily regimen, and you have experience working with metal to form and building eavestroughs and downpipes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working at heights
- Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and appropriate sheet metal tools
- Measuring and marking guidelines to be used for installations
- Determine and follow layout and installation procedures
- Install interior or exterior prefabricated products
- Installation of metal roofing, wall cladding, soffit, facia, and flashings
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Takes direction and applies to scope of work
- Make safety a priority, keeping job sites clean, and wearing appropriate PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience as a Metal Sheet Installer/ Cladder
- Commercial or residential construction and sheet metal experience
- Works efficiently while unsupervised
- Ability to work at heights
- Assumes responsibility for quality craftsmanship
Minimum or Other Qualifications (What you will bring to the Cobra role):
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience working with a COR registered company
- Have attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communicator
Work conditions:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, working at heights, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, may include overtime.
