Overview of Position:
Cobra Structures requires a Prefabricated Modular Home building carpenter to assemble new Bison Modular Steel Homes using prefabricated insulated wall panels. The building system includes pre-cut floor, wall, and roof panels. The candidate must be capable of operating a variety of basic hand tools and machinery, be an experienced carpenter with a background in framing, cladding, and be experienced in the construction of pre-engineered walls for steel buildings. Other duties may be assigned as required. Work will all be completed on-site in the production yard or inside the production building at our Beausejour location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review building packing slips for correct quantity and type of building components.
- Installation of the panels for the foundation, walls, roof, and floor for the building which varies project to project.
- Assembling / constructing the steel components of the building structure.
- Ability to understand blueprints and orders.
- Driving / using machinery: forklift and scissor lift.
- Using basic hand tools associated with construction and carpentry.
- Candidates must have the ability to lift 100 lbs and work outside.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in construction, residential or commercial framing, framing concrete, cladding, and / or experience with installing prefabricated walls.
- Basic experience with using tool pouch and basic hand tools.
- Experience following safe work procedures.
Minimum or Other Qualifications:
- Basic phone skills - logging in and out of timesheets.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Work conditions:
- Ability to lift 100+ lbs, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, noise, overtime available but not required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and tidy work environment by ensuring safety and company policies are followed and understood.
- Required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and any other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required for specific jobs. Some jobs may require an employee to be clean-shaven.
- Drug and Alcohol testing may be required.
