THE ROLE
Position: Accounting Generalist, Invoicing Coordinator
Competition Number: CNS 2022-11-28
Location: Commissionaires Nova Scotia Head Office (229 Damascus Road, Bedford NS)
Responsible for: The incumbent must have the aptitude to perform the accounting duties of the Invoicing Coordinator. This position works closely with the payroll administrator and will be a back up for hourly payroll. In addition, there may be situations where there could be requirement to assist with Accounts Receivable and / or the Accounts Payable.
Reports to: Controller
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 0800-1600hrs. This is a full-time permanent position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Commissionaires Nova Scotia finance team, the responsibilities of the Invoicing Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that client billings are prepared accurately, efficiently and on time.
- Provide accurate and professional responses to invoicing queries
- Ensure payments of all authorized expenditures incurred are correct and on time
- Correctly prepare and post invoices for ID services sales for all districts
WHO WE’RE SEEKING
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be a Permanent Resident of Canada or Canadian Citizen
- Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted
- Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check
- Be eligible to apply for Government of Canada personnel security screening
- Be able to communicate effectively in English (the ability to work in both official languages would be considered an asset).
Qualifications and Skills
The selected candidate will be a highly professional and detail driven individual with a strong work ethic and “Can Do” attitude. You will be a team player, working within an active corporate office environment.
Key qualifications and skills to be successful include, but are not limited to:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail & accuracy
- Superior client relationship and customer service skills
- Post-secondary education in accounting would be considered an asset, accounting experience is essential
- A demonstrated history of strong work ethic, professional conduct, and customer-oriented focus
- Experience with SAGE 300 ERP system would be considered an asset
- 3-5 years' experience in invoicing
- Proven experience in maintaining client relationships
- Previous experience with payroll and / or collections considered an asset
- A track record of punctuality, reliability, and accountability
- An ability to operate effectively with limited supervision
- Familiarity with, and ability to effectively deploy technology, especially Excel
