Under the direction of the Executive General Manager – Commercial Warehousing & Distribution, the Operations Manager is responsible for business development in accordance with set strategic objectives and budget approved by the executive management for the department. The incumbent is also responsible for delivering excellent customer relations, quality project deliverables and executing innovative solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
• Project Management:
• Plan and coordinate all aspects of assigned project activities for multiple sites for a specific client or group of operations.
• Function as the subject matter expert regarding areas of expertise. Organize the teams necessary to lead the project, report results and in general, ensure the project delivers the anticipated results.
• Quality Assurance:
• Provide overall strategic direction for customer relationship.
• Provide support to the GM and field operations personnel to ensure compliance in all SOP’s and ensure yearly target achievement.
• Define and develop new service capabilities that extend the reach of FMi’s core value proposition.
• Solutions Management:
• Develop and design an innovative, technical, and practical logistics solution that optimizes the customer’s specific supply chain needs.
• Support and help deliver best in class logistics solutions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to define and design quality standards for solutions developed.
• Evaluate supply chain optimization and decision, support technologies and recommend software or system upgrades for the organization.
• Information Technology:
• Implement and support business systems solutions that meet or exceed customers’ and internal business partners.
• Utilizing the Maves system, delivery includes effective system setup, training, implementation and post implementation support of the Warehouse Management System into a new or existing client site(s).
• Participates in the development of implementation and support cost estimates.
• Prepares and delivers status reports to team leader, senior management, and other project leaders. Qualifications/Skills:
• Innovative thinker, with a clear desire to engage in strategic planning.
• Client focused and driven for new business and successful client relationships.
• Strong Operational experience background.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly.
• Give and receive developmental feedback! Education and Experience Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent, industry certification with emphasis given to Business Management, Commerce, or Supply Chain concentration
• 10 years’ experience in Operations and Operations Management within the Commercial Logistics field
• Demonstrated success in managing functional and cross functional teams.
• Client Services focused.
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proven history of securing and developing new business
