Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Installing new equipment wiring systems
- Installing to and configuring J1939 control systems
- Configuring and troubleshooting ECU programming
- Gathering information, resolving and documenting installation/programming issues with their electrical system
- Diagnosing electrical/programming issues and proposing a course of action
- Providing Production Manager and our customers with estimated time and cost for repairs
- Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems
- Servicing of electrical parts
- Servicing and repairing electrical systems on HD and Medium duty vehicles
- Maintaining a clean working environment
- Completing job reports and processing paperwork
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and either Journeyman HD Technician / Mechanic or automotive electrical qualification certificate
- Oran equivalent combination of training and experience
- Proven work experience as an Automotive Electrician
- Advanced knowledge of modern HD/Automotive vehicular electrical systems. Incl SAE J1939 systems
- Experience with Diamond Logic and Cummins Insite
- Ability to navigate and understand OEM chassis configurations
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Complex problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment and a broad knowledge of OEM HD programming software
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work standing or in a crouched position for long periods
- Ability to distinguish subtle color variations
- Able to understand and capture/produce electrical schematics based on specific projects
