Payne Transportation Ltd, an over the road carrier based out of Winnipeg, MB with a commitment towards nurturing a world class safety culture is hiring for a Director of Maintenance to lead our team of heavy-duty trailer technicians.
The Director of Maintenance will assign work and supervise technicians; ensure all repairs are completed and processed in accordance with safety standards and guidelines; approve all maintenance expenditures and submit invoices for approval/payment. This position will prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects and the needs of the shop.
The ideal candidate will hire, train, engage, support and recognize team members to enable a high-performing culture while ensuring a safe work environment.
Requirements
· Red Seal Certified
· Minimum of 5 years maintenance management experience.
· Experience in managing/ directing 20 plus employees (fleet techs/service workers/cleaners).
· Ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers and warranty cost savings.
· Properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
· Manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in writing and verbally.
· Must have technical competence with medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
· Must display initiative, professionalism, honesty, and tact at all times.
· Degree or equivalent business management experience.
