POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Dual Ticket Licensed Millwright / Electrician is responsible for:
- Performing all duties in a safe and efficient manner following company safety standards.
- Work within the parameters of the plant’s WCM & quality system with multi-functional teams on WCM projects.
- Performs repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
- Work with preventative maintenance programs and keep proper maintenance records.
- Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting.
- Assembles and installs machinery and equipment such as precision bearings, gear-boxes, clutches, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, conveyors etc.
- Alignment of belts and couplings.
- Improving and maintaining plant electrical, instrumentation & automation systems; including preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Assist in generating & recording maintenance history on SAP.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production requirements are met.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
- Both Millwright and Electrician Red Seal certification required.
- 4 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Display proficiency in PLC troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC systems & Variable Frequency Drives.
- Working knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash protection requirements.
- Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts.
- Candidates must have strong trades, written and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage a variety of jobs or projects simultaneously.
- The successful candidate will be expected to operate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Flexibility to switch from one task to other dependable on job’s priority or criticality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to spend a significant amount of time on plant floor.
- Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair climbing, lifting, and entering confined spaces.
- Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards.
